Two Evergreen Grant Programs Now Accepting Applications

Please see below some possible funding sources that your club can apply to for your Conservation project. That 2nd one listed sounds like it could apply to some of the projects our Bassmaster clubs do.  Stress community involvement by partnering with other groups and even opening it to public volunteers who may want to help out.

Complete details below and links to applications forms. Hopefully a few of our clubs take advantage of this opportunity …

Aurora Bassmasters Hold Successful Clean Up Event

On a beautiful early morning on Sunday April 27th about 15 dedicated volunteers met at the Community Hall in River Drive Park, East Gwillimbury to conduct their annual Roadside Clean-up project. Hosted by the Aurora Bassmasters fishing club in partnership with the Kinsmen Club of Newmarket, about half the group were Bassmasters and the rest were volunteers from the local River drive park Community. Their mission was to clean up four kilometres of the Queensville Side Road, from Bathurst Street in the west to the lights at the 2nd Concession in the east.

The cleanup was run under the Region of York's Adopt A Road Program. The Region supplied garbage bags, gloves, safety vests and also arranged for garbage pick up after the event. Dave Meadows, Vice President of the Aurora club also pointed out, "As an added bonus, the Region of York also recognizes the work of volunteer organizations that run these clean-up days by establishing recognition signs."
