OBFN Team Ontario

NAME: Frank Ramsay
How did you get onto Team Ontario?

I competed within our chapter this year after I returned to the area from NB, making me eligible to compete in 2006 OBF Provincial Qualifier in Petawawa if an opening in the club became available. The opportunity presented itself so I paid my entry fee, competed and accumulated enough weight to finish 8th overall.

How does being a member of an OBFN chapter help you be a better angler/person?

Because it gives me an opportunity to fish with a variety of people and enjoy the comradeship in a relaxed setting (not under the usual tournament pressure). And to pass on my knowledge and experience to novice anglers to the sport and in so doing, reducing their learning curve and increasing their confidence and ability to catch fish. As we all know, its more fun if your catching fish. Furthermore, it gives me the opportunity to meet new people from around the province and fish other bodies of water, that I wouldn't normally have the opportunity to fish(Provincial Qualifier) and in doing so, further improving my own skills.

Anyone you want to thank?

Yes, my wife Cheryl, who has always been there and supported me in all my fishing endeavours throughout the years. Thanks to Ken and the rest of the OBFN Executive for their outstanding efforts and dedication they have given to this organization, to make it what it is today.
