About :
The Ontario B.A.S.S. Federation Nation was founded in 1995 and is made up of 24 clubs from all across the Province of Ontario. In 2014 the name was officially changed to Ontario B.A.S.S. Nation to coincide with changes at B.A.S.S. – no longer using the term Federation.
Mission:
The Ontario B.A.S.S. Nation is a grass-roots organization designed for everyone from beginners to seasoned tournament anglers. Although catch and release bass tournaments are a part of our Nation they are not the only aspects. One of the most important aspects of our clubs is that the experienced members fish with new members teaching them the sport of bass fishing while they compete.
Even the most experienced bass fishermen learn new ideas each year by fishing with other anglers during fun competition. Participating in our Nation is much more affordable for the average angler than the big money circuits.
Although money prizes may be involved at various levels, the money is not the primary focus of competition, and generally is of smaller value than other competitive circuits.
However, there is still the opportunity for some members to do very well monetarily in the upper levels of competition. The OBN is also about promoting the sport of bass fishing among the youth.
Company Overview:
B.A.S.S. formed in 1968 to promote and encourage fishing. Recognizing that youngsters are the future of this great sport, B.A.S.S. took the lead of introducing and educating youth about conservation and the sport of fishing. Your membership in the B.A.S.S. Nation helps support the next generation of responsible sportsmen & women through mentoring, volunteerism and education.
Additionally, the national B.A.S.S. office works to provide youth programs that collaborate with partners and agencies on the local, state and national level to further enhance or develop new outdoor youth programs nationwide and when/where possible, with the six International B.A.S.S. Nations.
Whether youth are learning conservation or fundamental fishing skills through the Bassmaster Casting Kids program or Junior Bassmaster Chapters are enjoying spirited competition from club, state, divisional or Junior Bassmaster World Championship competition — it all leads to a healthier B.A.S.S. Nation future for years to come.
